Jerusalem Eco Volunteering
In recent years community gardens have emerged in many neighborhoods in which residents garden their own plots and grow vegetables and herbs which they harvest and eat.
The educator will provide contextual information about the growth of this phenomenon, and root it in Biblical values and teachings combined with hands-on activities at the gardens.
In this program, volunteers will:
- Experience first-hand how young Israelis are changing the face of their city through community gardens in Jerusalem
- Partake in a 30 minute interactive learning session about the impact and importance of the community gardens initiative
- Spend 45 minutes contributing to the maintenance of the garden
Possible Locations: One of the 80 community gardens in Jerusalem
Time: Min. 1.5 Hours, excl. travel time to and from site
